The County purchases millions of dollars of equipment, supplies and services, as well as, construction services each year.  The Purchasing Department is responsible for formal bid or proposal solicitations and oversight of purchases for the Board of County Commissioners, special benefit districts, and in limited cases, for other constitutional offices.  The County has transitioned to an electronic bid platform for the dissemination of bids. Businesses are encouraged to participate in the free registration at  and identify the services/products they offer.  While other fee related offerings are available on this electronic platform, businesses are not required to pay a fee to view or download Highlands County solicitations.  A listing of “current solicitations” can also be found under the drop down tab to the left.
