Like the Development Services Division, the Engineering Department consists of several independent offices including surveying, traffic operations, and the placid and highway park utilities department. The Engineering Department, located at 505 South Commerce Avenue in Sebring, reviews construction plans and plats of residential and commercial subdivisions proposed for unincorporated areas of the county so they conform to county code and the department also reviews and approves work performed in county owned rights-of-way. The Engineering Department works closely with the Road and Bridge Department to oversee the planning and construction of major roads and bridges. Additionally, the Engineering Division provides quality water and sewer services to utility customers.
